It is a security feature for e-maill programs and services. Hackers like to include poisoned images on e-mail. Believe it or not but the image/picture can contain code to infect your computer. To protect against this type of attacks, many e-mail programs and services disable the viewing of images on an e-mail message by default. I don't know which program and/ or service you are using so I can't walk you through the process of deactivating this feature. You can try going through the e-mail settings and look for "show images" or something close to that.

Dear fellow member,

If you are referring to Yahoo webmail, then it is your internet explorer blocking those "unsafe" pictures. Advertisements and such fall into the unsafe categories. This is for your protection. Adware is known to cause this problem once you're infected as well. If you are referring to outlook then you can undo it under the security options to show and download pictures on all emails. Or can be broken links.

Kind Regards,
Ben

~ The pictures are not stored on a provider, that's why the red x mark shows!

~ The attachement was not properly attached by the sender . . .
