I have burning in my fingers. I have stiffness and nothing is taking the pain away. What can I do for the burning and numbness in my fingers? Is this normal? My doctor won't tell me anything. I don't have an appoinment until September so I'm on my own until then. I'm having extreme pain and need a solution if anybody else experience this kind of pain?

If you are having extreme pain, this is not normal. Don't call the doctor, go into the office today, now in fact, and insist on being seen ASAP. Stress the fact that you are in extreme pain and, although you may have to wait some time, you WILL be worked into the schedule. Be assertive and do not take no for an answer!

I had pins and a rod put in from my knee to my ankle, but they are permanent. I do however think that you should make an apointment to see a doctor if your doctor won't tell you anything. What it sounds like, if the pain wasn't there before you got them removed is, nerve damage... Don't bet the farm on it but you should look into it. but I cut my hand real bad once and I know the feeling of the numb and burning. doctor told me I hit a nerve and to this day it's numb and burns like hell if I touch or bump around the numb area. and that was fifteen years ago. But have someone look at it because it sounds like nerves and your hands, especially your fingers have a lot. but they work like a network and progress as they travel. that may be why. wish I could tell you for sure. For the pain get stronger medicine, thing about pain is everyone is different and a lot of people abuse it so you have to ask for it.

When you say your doctor "wont tell you anything" did you have the burning in your hand before the pins were removed or after?
I would call the docs office & tell the front desk you are having complications from the procedure & that you need to be seen now- they will make an appointment for you sooner than September.
Ask your doctor why you have the numbness & burning. It may be part of the healing process, it may be scar tissue, it may be nerve damage. You may need an EMG to test for nerve damage.... but only that doctor can tell you for sure.

I had a similar problem after I had shoulder surgery, it was not healing properly, my update was 4 weeks, then 6 weeks, well, I called after 3 weeks & said I am in horrible pain... they got me in the next day.... turned out I needed another procedure done. I'm much better now.

Yes it is normal TO A POINT. It also indicates nerve damage.
If your doctor won't tell you anything, after you have asked, you need to change doctors immediately. Also, that sounds like the onset of RSD... Insist that you get in to see a doctor as soon as possible.
