I am from Chicago. Cubs fans are delusional morons.

They are the worst organization in the history of modern sports.
Its one thing to be a loyal fan and another to be a dumb ***.

Their ball park is filled with 1/3 real fans, 1/3 drunken junior yuppies and 1/3 tourists from Iowa or some po dunk places. If the fans stay away maybe the owners will feel more pressure to win. But its a big bar (Wrigley Field) and winning is irrelevent to most of them.
In fact when somebody tells me they are a Cub fan, I say, "So you're a loser"!

Signed White Sox Fan!

Everybody thinks their team will win the World Series until it becomes impossible to do so. I used to maintain hope for the Mets back in the mid-1960s, though they spent a grand total of ONE day above .500 from 1962 through 1968. And then of course they won it all in 1969.

It isn't crazy to hope. And real Cub fans are well aware of their chances, or more properly the lack thereof. Sure it sounds ridiculous. But it's only a game, right?

I live the Cubs, have since I started watching baseball, but I don't think they can finish .500. Their pitching is horribly depleted with injuries, and the trade of Maddux, although he wasn't doing well as of late in a Cubs uniform. Also the farm teams seem to be low in talent as well. A lot of can't miss prospects that apparently can miss.

lifelong Cubs fan here, well the thing is they can finish under .500 and still be in the thick of the crowded NL playoff picture, so thy still got a chance, don't count them out yet, check back in about a month, after labor day and see where they stand
