Great answers so far.
Just to let ya know, I never judge anyone's opinions. I ask questions like this cuz I love hearing different viewpoints! I invariably learn something new, or find a new idea to ponder.
I like learning & thinking! So it works out well! :-)
Peace...

When things get a little personal it makes the decision clearer. My mother had Parkinson's Disease. It was a horrible illness and I hope there is a cure through stem cell research.

I know the arguments against it but I still vote for OK.

I have a disease called ARVD where the heart muscle loses its muscular ability and changes to a fatty type substance, causing electrical imbalances, which can lead to erratic heartbeats and/or death. Stem cell research has shown that they are able to repair some type muscle tissue which could lead to a cure for what I have and allow me to lead a normal life again. But I am totally against embryonic stem cell research because of the abortion issue. I would never think of killing an unborn baby to save my life. If they use umbilical cords or something like that then fine, but never help me live by killing unborn babies.

I think it is necessary for the treatment and prevention of most of the diseases we have today, and I think if they keep limiting the amount of research with stem cells, the longer we will be dying of diseases that could've been cured or prevented in the first place.

I think stem cell research is good if the stem cells come from adults or the umbelical cord. I don't believe in using embryo stem cells. This is my personal opinion, I don't support abortion and to me this is another way of encouraging abortions.

I think it's a great thing. It could help cure all sorts of diseases--including Alzheimer's. And if an ultra-conservative like Nancy Reagan can get behind it, I don't understand why people are being so stupid about it. I guess they'll have to lose loved ones to horrible diseases like Alzheimer's and cancer before they'll agree to support it.

I support stem cell research, I have a cousin who is a paraplegic. I think if there is any hope for all these people who suffer with disease and paralysis, that we should look into it.

I think everything about it is right...the success they've had w/ adult stem cells is amazing, and I think it could go even farther w/ embryonic stem cells....too bad G.W. Bush is an idiot and vetoed the federal funding expansion for it.....

I believe in all kinds of research. That's how diseases get cured.

It's a look at the future. My only concern is the cloning when you have that kind of power.
