A bunch of girls doing REALLY stupid things, getting drunk, trying to be better than eachother. Really, it's a bunch of crap and worthless.

You meet the women at each sorority, try to act charming and engaging. You get asked a lot of not so couched questions about your family, where you are from, your grades, etc. Basically it is like a job interview process, but the emphasis with a sorority is not the same as for a position with a corporation. But come to think of it, sometimes it is. Look pretty, be confident, have good grades, know how to talk to people. Sounds shallow, welcome to life. It can be a pretty humilitating experience to be judged by a bunch of catty young girls. Pledging is when the partying comes into play.

Lots of silly things - one looks back at these at a later time as they mature and say ".....what? I did that.......?" If you have to ask that, then you shouldn't have done it in the first place.
They get naked. They get drunk. They get abusive. They laugh but in a silly manner. They just don't know what they were doing at that time.
If you can, just stand back and watch and do not participate. You will see what I mean.
If you are just joining college, DON'T DO IT. You will regret it later.

They all get naked and wrestle!...... Well at least that's the way I like to think what happens.
