don't forget that most, not all of the gay people here today came from straight parents. just because you are gay doesn;t mean your children will be. some gay people may push their beliefs on their kids, and some will not, just like straight parents.

No.
Now... there may APPEAR to be more gay people in the future but this only will occur as it becomes more acceptable to come out of the closet. We had the same amount of gay people we did, say, 50 years ago. The problem was, most were closeted for fear of abandonment, abuse, persecution, etc.
And think about this... most gay people have straight parents. They had straight role models all their lives.. yet, they didn't become straight. See what I mean?
I don't care either way if my kids are gay or straight.. I only hope society becomes even more tolerant in the future. I see the persecution of gay individuals a lot like the racism issue. Only a few decades ago, it was acceptable to insult African-Americans without much protest. Nowadays, while there are still race issues, most people agree that racism is cruel and inhumane. I only hope homophobia will get better too. It will probably never completely die, but we can hope!

no no no....we keep seeing this in here all the time! I was raised by straight parents, 1 mom, 1 dad. and every gay/lesbian I know was raised the same way. straight parents have gay kids! it's genetic. having gay parents is not going to mean your kids will be gay. most kids of gay/lesbian parents I know are actually straight. it has nothing to do with the parents orientation. sexual orientation is something that is innate. it doesn't matter what gender your parents are. and there are still many single parent families that struggle these days. people are saying it's best to have a 2 parent family...but, as long as you have 2 loving parents, why should it matter if they are gay or straight? a lot of gay/lesbian parents are better than some straight parents.

For goodness sake what do the qualities one mimics/adopts have to do with one's sexual orientation? Are you saying that homosexuality is a personality trait ?
Where did/do the world's GLBs come from? Er? The HETEROSEXUAL union of Mum & Dad. Whilst single parenthood is on the increase in our society, among my peer group most of us GLBs grew up with both parents (MUM & DAD) in attendance.
In fact I recognise that I grow, even more, like my father every day. He isn't Bi and never considered the possibility that he could father a child that was. I tell you, if it weren't for the fact he and I look so alike, one might wonder if the milkman/deliveryman had anything to do with it :)
The only thing you can anticipate children of gay couples learning is that it takes all sorts to make the world. They will be less judgemental of (but not more amenable to enjoining) non-heterosexual orientations.

Thing is: they've done studies on this. The same proportion of kids turn out straight / gay, regardless of the orientation of their parents. Nothing to do with right / wrong, or politically correct. They had the question, and they did the study.
The other flaw in your logic is that if that was how sexual orientation worked, there probably wouldn't be ANY gay people.

Of course not.
People are born gay or straight before they have the chance to understand and truly observe the behavior of their parents.
We will have the same percentage of gay people in the future no matter how many gay parents there are. That is, unless science pins down the exact genetic determinants, and homophobic parents use eugenics breed gay people out of existence.
What a boring world that would be! Besides, there'd probably still be gay parents who would counteract this unholy choice. . . . one would hope.

Look at all the gay people born to straight parents. You'd then think that straight parents would increase the straight population. The truth is, life is like a box of chocolates...
you never know what you're gonna get!

sexual preference is not something you get by emulating ... if that were the case there would be no homosexuals, because in the beginning, there was adam and eve or some heterosexual evolutionary equivalent ... the first homosexual would never have been produced
the vast majority of homosexual people have heterosexual parents and the vast majority of homosexual parents have heterosexual children ... i personally know quite a few lesbian parents with grown children (7 children altogether) ... although it's not a large enough sample to be statistically significant, without exception, in every single instance, their children have a heterosexual orientation ...although a few of the females went through a lesbian "phase", by adulthood, their preference was heterosexual
it takes one to know one and it takes one to blow one, but it doesn't take one to grow one

If your parents sexuality influenced whether children were gay or straight, then almost everyone would be straight. It stands to reason that if straight parents can raise gay children, the gay parents can, will and do raise straight kids.

They'll encourage their kids to be open minded about their sexuality, and you'll probably see them ending up being more open, which will mean more people will notice that they are gay.
I'm sure most gay people come from straight parents (obviously), but you don't hear about it as often as you should because some parents arn't open about sexuality, so you don't hear them be open about it, so you don't hear of a lot of agay kids coming from closeminded people.
