Oriana, what a unque name. It is Ukrainian, right? I think you should talk to your mother and explain her that your friend changed. Tell her that people grow up and your friend has changed.

First, you should understand that your mom may hold a grudge. Nobody likes to see somebody they care about being hurt, and your mom probably loves you more than she loves most other people.
Second, you should try and figure out a way that you can include your mom in at least a couple things that you and your friend do. I realize this is anathema to teenagers, but it would be the easiest way to demonstrate to your mom that this friend of yours is not the same person who used to bully you in the past. If you've got the cash for it, perhaps suggest a spa day - y'all can chat casually while getting pampered.

yikes well obviously u can and should still hang out w/ her and as for your mom have your friend apologize to you and your mom at the same time though your mom probably still wont trust her or want you to hang w/ her shell be a lot happier anmd respect her a little more bcuz of it.so you see an apology can go along way.you could try proveing your mom wrong but it wont get u far just keep your chin up at all times never look down things will turn out okay i promise(though comeing from a total stranger that might not mean much)

Ask your mom if she had ever had a friend that she liked real well & then they grew apart. Tell her it is the same thing, as people grow & change, their relationships chsnge. Unfortunately sometimes our family remembers all the wrongs done to us by others, where we tend to remember the good things.
Ask your mom to give you 3 months & she will see, give her a promise that if the friendship reverts back to the "old" ways, you will no longer hang out with her.

Your mom cant pick and chose your friends but as a mother I can tell you that what she is doing is trying to protect you,she probably sees something coming that you dont,it is ok to be friends but be cautious, dont set yourself up for the same hurt you have already experienced and as for your mom, just ask her for guidance on the friendship, you will probably find in the long run that she is guiding you in the right way

Your mother doesn't really have any say about who you hang out with. She may put up all kinds of rules and restrictions on you, but she can't really control you. It sounds like your mother is scared that your new friend is not really a friend at all. But remember, your mother is doing her job. She is trying to protect you. It is a parent's job to make sure that their child is safe and healthy. It can get annoying at times, but try to explain to your mother that you are making your own decisions about these sorts of things now. But try understanding your mother too.

Tell your mom that you are going to give your friend a chance and tell her that you are leaving that past behind you and if any thing goes wrong just stop being friends with her and hope that your friend cleans up her act

that happened to me. except first we were friends then something happened between us and it was mostly my fault, but my mom will only think of the fact that she ignored me for like 3 months. so she didnt want me hanging out w/ her. actually it turns out she was right b/c my "friend" has totally changed and i just cut her off. i dont think this person is really your friend.

its true that you shouldn't trust people you had as enemies. maybe you can keep in touch and hang out any where else than your house. it will take time for your mom since your friend will have to gain your moms trust again which is logical for this situation to take place. i cant think of anything but time my dear.
