Cell phones and other electronic devices for the most part can still be brought onboard aircraft. You just have to have it turned off for most of the flight. Many carriers do allow you to have it on during taxi to the gate after landing though, so you can call whoever you're going to see. or check messages, etc.

Be sure to put it in a container and remove it from your pocket as you go through security.

Electronic products are NOT banned (yet) from public airline, and are only banned on flights from the UK out to the USA.
So you may take your mobile phone, Blackberry, or computer or Ipod. But you can not operate the phone in flight and must turn it off. You may continue to use all other approved electronic devices. The new security memo is only limiting liguids and gels.

No, I've heard that all electronic items including cell phones are banned until further notice. You're not even allowed to bring your keys if you have a wireless remote key fob on your keyring!

Contact the airport and have them provide you a list of prohibited items so your boarding won't be delayed due to security infractions...

Right now with yesterdays terrorist scare they say you can. I heard on the news that you can but they will make you turn it on and off at at least two check points . That is so they know it is a real phone.

You should ask to your airline as new security measures have been implemented after what happened 2 days ago in UK. I heard you can't bring any carry-on now. Just a plastic bag with your wallet and that's it.
