what oil should I use to score glass and cut

On very large sheets of glass, they some times use oil to coat the cut marks, but, its a thin oil of some sort, and they still "snap it"...If your cutting stained glass, none should be needed...

Oil is really used to keep the glass down, (glass dust), so that it doesnt fly everywhere and get into things...(worse than fiberglass insulation)...

Also, its used in "real old glass" that has 'dried out' a lot, and needs to be moistened...

I wish you well..

WD40 or 3-IN-1 Oil will work while cutting glass. Remember to dip your glass cutter each time you go to make the cut as this will help aid in reducing splintering of the surface you are cutting. If you do not oil the surface when you scribe the surface of the glass it will cause the surface of the glass to make little splinters on the cut side and when you snap the glass off you will have what looks like a very jagged edge. The oil aids in the prevention of the jagged edge.

It is a good idea to use oil, in fact you can get glass cutters that have their own reservoir for oil in the handle. Any light oil or white spirit will do.
When you have scored a line on the surface tap the glass gently underneath the line of cut and it will break along that line.
You can do straight or curved lines by this method.

I've never used oil. Score with the cutting wheel, then crack across a slightly lower surface.

No oil needed, when you do use oil it makes it hard to see the line you have scribed
