the source of the rotation of earth (or most planet, stars, moons, etc) comes from the forming of the earth. When the earth was just a baby, it is still in the form of gases, this gasses attract each other, and in a complex way that I can't describe in short here, it makes the gases rotate on its own, and pulls other gases around it, after thousands of years later, the gases solidifies, into a ball of dirt known as earth now.
The source of earth's revolution simply is because of Sun's gravity, which comes from Sun's rotation. Again, it can't be simply explained, you've got to imagine it in your head, when the sun pulls the earth, and the earth itself has already had a direction to go, the earth would be attracted (and literally falling to the sun), but the pull of sun is not strong enough to make the earth touches the sun, and this continous pulling, and continous failure of making earth touch the sun makes earth (or any planet) revolutes around the star.
EDIT: As Dallas stated, Gravity is the source for both rotation and revolution, but I've got some things to add. Rotation is caused by the gravity of the earth (or the gases that is soon to be earth), while revolution is caused by the gravity of the object it revolutes (in which, for earth, it means sun)

I don't know that I understand your questions.
First the Earth moves by sheer inertia. Gravity has created the earth and it moves around the sun. The Rotation and Revolution are caused by the same force, Gravity. All of the little pieces and dust that formed the earth eons ago each have added just a little bit of momentum to the spin of the earth. Over billions of years those little dust particles have added up and we now have a planet that is made up of trillions of dust particles that have a net momentum of 1 Rotation/24 hours. The same is true of the Revolution.
As to your other questions, it doesn't stand up. There is no Up in space. Humans have arbitrarily made directional axes on the earth that could have been placed in any number of ways (do australians think the earth is upside down?) And no one holds it up in space. That doesn't make any sense either.

The earth doesn't "stand" in space; like the rest of the planets, it is attracted by the sun's gravitational pull and orbits around it. The details of how this started are not fully understood, but orbiting of mass around a center is seen in galaxies and it is reasonable to suppose that the same mechanism applied to the solar system. It appears that a primordial cloud of dust and gas condensed under its own gravitational pull, possibly assisted by a shock wave from a supernova (which supplied the heavy elements). The central part of this became the sun, and the outer parts became the planets. Most of the original material not used in this process was blown out of the solar system by solar wind once the sun achieved ignition. The collision of the earth with previously unconsolidated matter probably contributed to the circularization of the orbit, and may have contributed to the earth's axial rotation as well.

Relative to what?
I mean if it is said that the earth is revolving around the sun, that is relative to the sun. Although we can ask the question, why is it not the other way around? why dont we say the sun is revolving around the earth?
And we already know the answer, one of these modelings is simpler.
Who says that the earth does stand in space? What is space?
If by space, you mean the Luminoferous aether, the Michealson-Morley experiment showed that it does not exist is any way to explain the results. Or by space you might mean the empty space in which Schwarzchild found the solution for Einstein's equations, in that case I say there is no "space" observed by now!
1st edit:
Thanks for the thumbs, but I suggest you all to study Newtonian relativity (no need to start with special and general relativity) to understand that motion is at all relative so that you wont say things like earth is moving because of inertia and an initial velocity,or earth was captured by sun's gravity, or trying to explain the earth's motion relative to the sun as an absolute frame of rest (in this case, may I ask you the question, how does the sun move? and give you the additional detail that we know that the sun is probably in motion relative to the center of mass of the milky way(lets not consider the dark matter and energy cause it makes the situation complicated and they are not accepted to exist for sure)). After that study special relativity and then start general relativity, and study the Mach's Principle so as to understant that although earth is revolving around the sun, the local properties of the manifold consisting this relative motion is not determinded by sun and earth alone.

SOme of the other answers capture it - there was a burst of energy at the supposed big bang. We've been in inert movement ever since. the gravity of the sun pulled us in. Slowly we spiral toward it like turd down a toilet. The daily rotation is similar. We're not a perfect sphere with a perfectly centered mass, so the rotation is natural consequence due to gravity.
It definitely isn't God.

The Earth moves by inertia. It inherited its momentum from the disk of dust it was formed from, and it keeps moving because there is nothing to stop it (Per Newton's first law). Gravity keeps us in orbit around the Sun.

people declare to be the main sensible yet purely because of the fact there's no different species to dispute it. useful guy has created a majority of those fantastic issues to make life greater handy yet has it no longer in actuality made us lazier? And who is conscious if possums had opposable thumbs they might have overwhelmed people to the moon (possibly no longer possums yet you get the assumption i'm hoping ) we are destroying the Earth at a value so speedy that we are surely considering inhabiting yet another planet. there are various techniques to chop back gas emissions out of your dwelling house and supply up from dropping the powerful components the Earth has presented for us a number of those contain: incandescent easy bulbs*, turning electric powered equipment off on the skill element*, turn lights off while no longer mandatory*, water saving heads in bathe*, timed showers*, 0.5 finished bottle interior the bathroom cistern*, change to eco-friendly potential*, change to electricity or photograph voltaic skill, bathe with bucket to water vegetation*, walk or journey extremely of applying*, recycle cardboard, plastic and glass and metals*, plant trees to soak up carbon dioxide emissions* Thats purely a number of issues human beings can do to help save our beautiful planet. most of it is the gravity from the sun causing us to move about the giant orbit that we are in now. the rtation of the earth i think is how it grabs us kind of rolling us around our orbit. and it stays in space because there is nothing there to effect us from falling through space or going up or anything like that.

Simple question and also rather stupid...it's pointless to put in the effort required to answer it for somebody who thought so little when asking it. You can keep your ten points...I got two just for insulting you.
