Some dreams are so real it seems they could be true experiences; and I think sometimes they are.
I have had dreams with people I know, and the next day we realize we had similar thoughts.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Is there a place I can get more information about this?
Thank you for your answers.

When I wrote that "we have had similar thoughts" I meant we had pretty much the same dream. Slight differences, but enough details to think we both were "there" at the same time.

Absolutely they are! It is also referred to as "astral travelling" and you will find the answers you're looking for if you google that phrase instead of out of body experiences. A good book on this is "Travelling the Interstate of Consciousness...a Driver's Instruction Manual"....it tells you all about it and how to control it. This actually can be done while you are awake! *very cool* I astral travel all the time and yes, there have been times when my sister & I will experience the same "dream" at the same time...and lately my sister, my husband and I have all dreamt the same thing on the same nights...very wild!
Then there are dreams that are just dreams...it's not too difficult to distinguish between the experiences.

Yes they can. If you have 360 degree sight, then you are experiencing OBE. As for having similar thoughts, we are all linked to the universal conscientiousness. There are also rare occasions where the life force, or soul, shares two bodies at the same time. There are many good books on the subject of OBE, but beware there are many out there writing just for the money. Llywellyn publishing company's authors are a more reliable source of information. Check the New Age section in your local bookstore.

Out of body experience could happen, but not often. It is more like a prophetic dream. You can see your future in your dream.
I would be scared if I keep having those dreams. Once in a while it is okay because that may refresh our curiosity in dreams.

no.
a dream is purely an act of intuition - if you will - it is contained fully within your own mind and serves as an answer to an unasked question based on an experience you've had.
an obe is an event which takes place on an astral plane. you can "make" it happen but you do not (cannot) control what it reveals to you.
as for a place to learn more - I suggest Google.

Yes, probably all of them are. You could check Sylvia Browne's website. It's www.sylvia.org

Think of your dreams as trying to "teach" you something new about yourself.
Ask yourself, "What should I learn here?"
