They had pretty much the exact same career. The only difference is that Davis didn't befriend a player with cancer and have a movie made about it.

Their careers are hardly similar...Terrell Davis is better in virtually every running and receiving statistic. Of course TD will get in.

Sayers was a much different type of player than Davis. Besides OJ, Sayers was the glamour back at that time, whereas Davis, while having a very good career, wasn't head and shoulders above everyone else.

Davis may get in the Hall, but you can't compare the two.

If you want to argue Davis (who was great for a few seasons), you can make a case for him, but you shouldn't implicitly demean Sayers in the process. Unfortunately, I was a little young for Sayers (I would've seen some of his career, but for his injuries), but those who played in or really watched his career speak about him with wonder and reverence.

TD was a major rerason why the Broncos and Elway finally got a couple rings, but my sense of football history tells me that he was not in Sayers' class (Brian's Song notwithstanding).

Sayers' career is very similar to that of Sandy Koufax in baseball. Though they didn't have the longest careers, they each had one stretch that is unmatched in each of their respective sports.

TD is a hands down Canton inductee. It depends on who else is part of that class though. But based on the numbers TD goes in and it's well deserved.
