The Rock was the cinema in Alum Rock Road and was a regular meeting place for teenagers to try out their romantic charms, Alum Rock was a bustling shopping centre in the 60's & 70's and before that as I am told. Small Heath was very similar to Alum Rock as it to was a busy shopping area, but both areas have changed dramaticly as time passed and a lot of Brummies say it is not for the best.
