Yeah its a good amount. Here are some tips to make it stretch and possibly have money left over.
1. buy school suppiles first. if you have an odd lots or a big lots store in your area go there and get the stuff. You can get everything including a backback/bookbag for like 20 dollars and some change.
2. Do your school clothes shopping last that way you dont blow all your money before school supplies are bought. Make sure you dont just buy all name brand clothing, non name brand lasts just as long and looks just as nice. If you have a store called Steve and Barry's go shop there. Its a nice place to shop and you can get a lot of nice clothing there without going totally broke.

Well I feel yes $300.00 is plenty good enough.. I spent about $250.00 on my 15 yr old this year.. All that was needed was the normal school supplies and some new outfits.. The holidays are only a few months away and with my family more new outfits and goodies to come.. Threw out the year new things will be needed but to start out I think that's plenty.. Fads change and what you buy now there not going to like in about 6 months anyway lol

Well depends on what you are getting if you are getting all clothes with that money than yes. If you are getting also school supplies than i guess it is. So i guess $300 is a good amount for school shopping

It depends, do you need a lot of clothes? My daughter outgrew and wore out the majority of her clothing from last year. We just went shopping and spent $500 on clothing. Oh, and that's not including the $50 messenger bag and misc. school supplies I had purchased for her earlier. AND I still need to get her a pair of Nikes, brown shoes, socks & underwear yet!

im 17 and my lil sis is 12. when i took her school shopping(just for supplies) we spent $175, and we really could have been fine with like $50 each. and then for clothes (depending on age) should be around $150 i think, all you need to get is maybe 2 new shirts & pants

Yeah I think that is enough unless you have quite a bit of money and you like to where like really expensive clothes or need a lot of supplies. It all depends on your shopping habit s and what you like to where.

I just spent over $100.00 on 3 prs of new shoes for my 5 yr old. Ok they were Sketchers, but they were on sale.
If you go to target you should be fine. Maybe even old navy.
No way if you are going to Gymboree or Nordstrom

If they made it a law that kids have to go to school and you cant avoid it, shouldnt the SCHOOL pay for the supplies? I mean they cant make a law that makes you spend your own money right? I refuse to buy my kids anything for school, and then when the school calls me i tell them that its my money and i will spend it how i see fit and they cant make me go out and buy all this ****
