i agree with not abusing animals, however psychology tests reveal that a lot of murderers/serial killers start out with animals. animals can't fight back and many of the killers start out in their youth abusing animals. some move on solely to people and some continue the animal abuse. unfortunately the government is pretty lax on animal abuse laws. a good way to initiate change though is to contact your local congress. make phone calls, write letters, petition. there are plenty of others that share your feelings(such as myself and everyone else that posted here), and if you try hard enough you may end up having something put into place that would give harsher punishments to animal abusers. never hurts to try.

The organization that I got my bunny at (the one in the picture) they had a rabbit that was set on fire but a kid. The rabbit nearly died, it lost its ears and the kid pretty much just got counseling. Not that there is anything wrong with counceling but the crime and the punishment are so very different, the rabbit will have to live his whole life without ears, the kid will have his record sealed. 1 year in prizon or $5,000 doesn't seem like much since people usually only serve 50% of the time they are sentanced for with good behavior.
It makes me sick but people will do sick things to animals and then do them to people, stoping it early is the only way.

People who do things like this should receive the same treatment that they dish out to the animals. Makes me sick. I wish we could save all animals from such abuse. Most people who abuse the animals just get a slap on the wrist. They will be punished on Jugement day and thereafter.
