I am 35! Music has always played a massive role in my life, it expresses so many things and gives so many emotions release, it is unique in this way, it touches the soul, fires up the imagination and is so pleasing to hear. My daughter recently played at the Yamaha School of Music concert in Glasgow and they were all fantastic! To see these young kids and people playing tunes on keyboards and guitars was ace, the boys playing Pink Floyd's Money on guitar were simply awesome!

A very good question Jack.
I guess music has influenced every generation since the fifties, It does allow you to express yourself through dance, and often the lyrics will mean something special to the individual.
Other than that It's usually a heartthrob thing or the latest trend that teenagers are carried along with regardless of the sound or words.
We all find our way to the real music in the end though.

It is a detraction from all the **** that is going on around you, you could also ask yourself " What came first the music or the Misery ?"

It is an expression a break away of feelings, it takes you to a place where you can be sad, happy or just chilled.

Dont limit your borders to one type of music either, get out there and listern to more and more music by different artists or genres.

TV is shite and depressing, music can take you to a different place !

Well I'm not a teenager anymore but I work in the Music industry. I listen to music all day. I play music in my spare time. I even fall asleep listening to my iPod.
I think it's the expression in music and if you're lucky enough to be able to connect with music then it becomes a passion

Music triggers emotion, it creates emotion and teenagers are in the most emotional stage of their lives. Emotions can be very enjoyable, and music stimulates it. As you get older, you get less responsive to emotion triggers, probably because you've had more of them, and also because it's counterproductive in the profeesional stage of life you've gotten into.
