As I commute in Los Angeles, I see MANY people on their cells at 6:00 in the morning...I am just wondering...who are they talking to at that time...I mean, who wants to 'chat' with me at 6:00 in the MORNING?! Even my Mother does not want me waking her up at 6:00AM!
Any idea's?

Just because a person is talking on their cell phone doesn't necessarily mean they are just chatting to friends or something. It could easily be a business call. My company owns/manages office building complexes, and all our pagers and cell phones are "on call" 24/7. More often than not one or more of our engineers, and even our office personnel are on the phone handling an issue on their way to work. Some things have to be handled immediately and can't wait for a 30-45 minute commute to end. We could already have a contractor on the way, and may even be there by the time we get there.

I have never been able to figure that out myself..I live on the East Coast..no one wants to talk early in the morning, usually not till 11 am...or later
funny to see all kinds of commuters just chatting away..

Most people like to give the impression that they are important so they usually have a phone implanted on their ear most of the time.
These are the same idiots who cut you off on the highway because they do not pay attention to traffic and is engrossed in their shallow talk in their shallow world!

My daughter isn't on the road at 6am, more like 7am, but she talks to her friend who is also commuting to work at that time. Even though she does talk on her blue tooth which is hands free,(in my opinion) it is still dangerous because your full attention is NOT on your driving.

At 6am in NYC I was often on the phone already talking to coworkers. Considering LA...at 6am I would be talking to people on the east coast who are probably wondering why I am not in the office already!
