Pituitary Gigantism is what caused him to be so tall/large.

6 Ft 10 inches tall

Born to French parents of Bulgarian and Polish descent in a small farm near Ussy-sur-Marne, he left home in his adolescence to become a pro wrestler. He was billed at a height of 7 ft 4 in (224 cm) and sometimes 7 ft 5 in (226 cm) with a weight which ranged from 380 to 540 pounds. His correct height is contested, but he was legitimately measured at the age of twenty-four at 6 feet 9 ¾ inches tall (208 cm)[1]. The great exaggeration of his height probably comes from the fact that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the tallest renowned athlete in the world at the time at 7 ft 2 in (219 cm), and promoters wanted to bill Roussimoff as the biggest athlete in the world.

He was 7'4'' tall. He was the largest athlete the world had ever seen, and was professional wrestling’s most famous attraction throughout the 1970s and much of the 1980s. Standing 7’4” and weighing between 475 and 540 pounds over the course of his career, he truly earned his nickname of “The Eighth Wonder of the World”.
By the time he was 12, the boy stood 6’3” and weighed in at 200 pounds. This was due to the fact that he was born with acromegaly, a disorder that causes the bones to grow at an accelerated rate, and to continue to grow beyond the age of physical maturity.

Andre the Giant (Andre Roussimoff) was 6'10 prior to his death on January27, 1993. His size was in part due to a growth hormone, a condition called pitiuitary gigantism that he had all his life & was led to him being dubbed as "The eighth wonder of the world."

When he died he was 7'4" tall and weighed 521 pounds.
He had a desiese called pituitary gigantism which ment his body produced to much groth hormone and he wouldn't stop getting taller. Big Show and The Great Kahli had the same desiese but both got it fixed.
