Maybe the pain that you had prior to surgery wasn't due to gall bladder. Often after cholecystectomy, you can have what's called "bile sludge" which is thick enough to block up the ducts that used to get blocked by gall stones when you still had your GB, thus giving you the same pain. Also, I have heard of patients who get more indigestion/gastritis symptoms after GB removal. Since the function of GB is to concentrate the bile made in the liver, and the function of the bile is to help digest fats, digestion and absorption of fats can be impaired after GB removal. This can cause you to have diarrhoea, or slow stomach emptying, resulting in stomach irritation (= gastritis) or reflux.
You could talk to your doc about maybe starting some antacids, and advice on dietary changes, and to make sure there is nothing else bad going on in your tum
