You can do 2 things, if you use XP learn how to make different user accounts, and give your son an account with limited privileges. You can also password protect or hide your folders, right click on the folder or file and select Properties, look at the options.
I recommend you get a good book like XP for Dummies and work your way through it, there's loads of settings you can change to make your pc run better and more safely.

A good way to do it is to get an archival program (like WinRar, Winzip, etc) put those files/folders into the archive and put a password on it. Then delete the originals and viola...protection.

You can also download a free program called TrueCrypt. TrueCrypt creates a fake harddrive and it allows you to put files and whatnot in it. It encrypts it and allows you put a password on it. TrueCrypt is found at http://www.truecrypt.org/

In Win XP you can set up a password for your login identity. Then in your folder's properties window you can change the setting on the privacy and security tab.

No i did not get this digital mail and it particularly is surly a primitive way from an newbie Hacker to have your password. note that yahoo (as an digital mail service) is dedicated with the aid of regulation to maintain and shop each and every of the customers files (inspite of the actual incontrovertible reality that it particularly is ideal or no longer ) and back it up. From yet another hand each and every time we log in yahoo, we provide ( contained throughout the log style ) to yahoo files base our PW and digital mail take care of which captured and in evaluation with the archives which yahoo has and below his administration. If for inspite of the actual incontrovertible reality that reason yahoo has lost this files (your digital mail and password), you'll no longer be able to log in P&S and positioned up this question :-) Be shop

Go into the file itself by opening.
Click Tools
Click Options.
In the options dialog box, click the Security tab.
In that box, you can set a password but you
MUST remember it othewise you will
never see that file opened again.
