You got it, people will deny this till they are blue in the face but that what is going on. How can you deny that the terror threat pick up during election time, it right in your face. I don't know if people are just lazy or connecting the dots scares them to much. Its very simple, Fear = Control

Ever since I have lived in the States I have always realized that the GOP was stronger on defense. The GOP doesn't scare me but people blowing up buildings do. I'd been expecting big trouble from the Middle East since 1979 when Carter "handed" Iran over to the Ayatollah. Jihad is not new and some have been trying to warn us since he early 80's. I voted for Gore and am glad that he didn't win. He would have been more concerned about the environmental damage done by 911 than about the other consequences. If the world were more peaceful I'd probably vote Democrat the majority of the time but in time of war I will probably vote GOP the majority of the time. The democrats are to "fluffy". They prioritize based on what they think the world should be like rather than based on cold harsh reality.

The only reason the GOP benefits is because the Dems have become increasingly pro-terrorist as they increasingly embrace the lunatic ultra-left fringe of their party - as especially demonstrated in the CT Dem primary.
Actually, the GOP would love not to be at war, not to have to deal with terrorists threats. But unlike the Dems, we recognize that there are terrorists and they treaten us and we must take the necessary actions to protect ourselves. Attacking the terrorists where they are is one aspect of the war on terror.
But the Dems think retreat, dishonor, cowardice and appeasment will soothe the terrorists, much as Chamberlain felt towards the Nazis. Alas, all the pollyanna feelings in the world will not stop or thwart these terrorists.
And the American people instinctively know this, and turn away from the doomed-to-fail dishonorable path of Chamberlainian peace-at-any-price that the Dems embrace.

Because Democrats are soft on crime, soft on terrorism, soft on security. Not all, but many, and it is party wide problem.
Wait a minute! Hold everything! Terrorism?? What terrorism? After all Michael Moore, the darling of the Democratic party, said unequivocally that THERE IS NO TERRORISM. Lets hope he chokes on his next batch of hotdogs. Check, please!
It is due, in large part, to President Clinton inaction that we are in the situation we are in now. How soon people forget! Have people forgotten the 1st terror attack on the World Trade Center in New York? How about the attack on the Cole? How about other attacks during Clinton Administration? Due to his inaction, and charming ways with the Muslim terrorist loving UN people, President Bush has inherited a very dangerous situation that culminated in the 9/11 terror attack.
For those who don't know, the 9/11 terror attack was years in the planning. Yes, contrary to the nonesense the liberals have spewed, President Bush had nothing to do with this attack. While President Clinton avoided military confrontation, and allowed the terrorist cells to grow and get stronger, President Bush had the courage to deal with this dangerous situation head on. None of us wanted war, but waiting longer would have made the situation even worse down the road. War on terrorism had to be waged, and I am glad that President Bush did it. If only President Clinton had done it when the situation was easier, we would not be posting here right now about this topic.
Even though I don't agree with everything President Bush has done, he and his administration have done an incredible job in light of the terror and natural disasters the U.S. has been through since 2001. The economy was already in a recessionary mode in the last year of Clinton's Administration, and President Bush has helped the U.S. come out of recession fears into a growing economy.
The biggest problem this administration has is the lack of Public Relations, and talking about its accomplishments and the situation we are facing. While President Clinton could sell ice to the Eskimos, President Bush can't seem to sell baguettes to the French. President Bush is not the master orator and charmer that Clinton is. That is the Bush Administration biggest issue, and unfortunately, perception is what the people understand as reality, despite of actual reality. That is why you see the terroist groups using their own media outlets to make up people's mind through perception, at any cost, with any lie. Unfortunate, but true.

Terrorist attacks are neutral politically.... both parties try to use news for political gain.
It is the response to news, not the news itself that aids politicians.
Well, I consider illegal aliens as a terrorist group, and that issue is not being addressed, Bush and Congress, as did Clinton and Congress, have their feet stuck in the mud, they aren't dragging their feet anymore. They are conducting an outright avoidance of taking action.... maybe until the elections are over???? So they can say what they want, then stab Americans in the back.
They are allowing an invasion to take place and pay it no more attention than lip service.

Well, it isn't so much that they love it....it is just that the Libs have shown so little concern for security, when things like this happens, it is good for the party.......and the Libs would not have taken over congress....without great luck, it would have taken 15 seats to do that, and that many seats turning over would be a miracle, not impossible, but very unlikely

I dont believe that they love it . It just shows the public that they are right in the war against islamic radicals. While the press and the democrats stick to the idea of lay down and play dead it will go away maybe we could arm our forces with rubber bullets to stop the rockets that are being fired on them

Republicans don't love it -- it's just that liberals love to bury their heads in the sand and try to get the rest of America to do the same. The lesson of 9/11 was completely LOST on the liberals. They still believe that we can get along with the Muslim radicals who have proved time and time again that they can't be bought or bargained with. When will the Democrats get it through their thick heads that THESE PEOPLE WANT TO KILL US AND WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO DO IT?!?!!?!!?!?!!! Take your rose-colored glasses off and see the world for what it really is.

Correct! The GOP needs to use the "fear factor" to be able to maintain control of their constituents. And for the most part, it works. It's like parents who KNOW that in order to control their children, they have to instill fear in them.
The problem with this is taht the fear tactics are not working anymore because people are realizing that it's too much of a coincidence that EVERYTIME before elections there's a HUGE outcry of terror attacks.
