That really all depends on what colors you like only you can answer that.
I would probably stay with lighter colors of your choice specially with a small room darker colors tend to make the room smaller.
As for the theme of the room well you can do just about any theme you want anything your into or like for that matter. every room in my house has a theme..lol.
for instance my bedroom has a romantic theme to it . I went with a light blue with a hint of purple color for three walls with two of the three colored walls i sponged a darker blue, darker purple and white maken what looks like a wall paper effect..leaving one wall white and the ceiling white. I have got a lot of compliments on it from people of different ages.
With my kitchen i went with a bright yellow on three sides leaving one wall white wich was the larger wall and my theme is spring/summer i have butterflies and bird houses all over gives it a nice feel makes you want to spend a lot of time in there specially if your a spring/ summer kind of person.
I have another bedroom that i did in doulphins and my reck room is done in horses. my living room has an african theme and my bathroom is done in an tropical island theme.
Some people dont prefer a theme at all and just go with their favorite colors. so its really up to you let your emagination fly and have fun doing it!
good luck!!

i have a few ideas on this - how about a terra cotta color all over and then a few pieces of white furniture and some white tulle over the bed like a canopy. Or light turquoise walls with white bed and then an orange blanket folded up at the foot of the bed. Or butterscotch walls with white trim and black furniture and then white linens on the bed. How fun for you to pick something! Or you could be like Eloise (the storybook character) and have a french theme with light and a smidge darker pink stripes, white and black accessories!

You should paint and decorate your room according to your style and your favorite things. for example, i really like blue, and dolphins, so my room kind of has and ocean theme. if you want to be more stylish or something, you could always search the web for ideas or go to a paint store or hardware store (lowes, home depot, wal mart, etc) and just look at the paint colors. Something might jump out at you. put some colors together until you find something you really like and you'll be able to live with for awhile. Paint can get expensive, so you want to get it right the first time! good luck in choosing!

Depends on where you live, and your interests.
Mine is a tropical theme, since I live in Florida now.

http://www.behr.com/behrx/workbook/?null=null is a cool color/paint program that you can do in just a few minutes; its offered by Home Depot. You pick colors, pictures, etc. that you like and it suggests colors. Try that!
