When I bought my Dell laptop I had an internal wireless card put in it. Will that allow me to have wireless internet?

1. you can use the laptop in a hot spot area (mostly available at airports, internet cafes, hotels etc.)
2. you can build your own wireless network at home. for this purpose you need either a cable or dsl modem (a dial up modem will not work). addionally you need a wireless router that you connect with the modem.
for your security you should define a WEP or WPA encryption code (must be done on the router and the laptop). this prevent from access the wireless network by others. addionally you can use MAC filtering (this has to be set on the router). and finally you MUST change the preinstalled password on the router.

yes but you'll also need a wireless modem and router physically attached to your phoneline to accept the connection from your wireless card. after that, your laptop can roam anywhere in your home or garden and access the internet without wires.

Yes it will but you have to find a hot spot or if you are networked on a secure network you will need to know the encryption number
