The Hall of Fame selectors say themselves that they only weigh what was done on the field when selecting who goes. This year just wasn't meant for Irvin. I would've much rather saw Rayfield Wright get in than Michael Irvin. Don't worry, Irvin will get his chance. It's just a year to year thing. Irvin was too good to not get in, regardless of what he did off the field.

1st ballot HoF for Michael Irvin not just because of his off the field problems but do you know how good you have to be to be a 1st ballot HoFer. Moose no way he was good at what he did but he is not a Hall of Fame player same with Novachek. I am guessing you are a cockroach cowboy fan enjoy TO and last place in the NFC East

a extra effective case ought to correctly be made for Gary Clark than paintings Monk. Monk had extra catches over 16 seasons, yet Clark become massive contained in the tremendous video games (like Irvin). Irvin become chosen to 5 professional Bowls in 12 seasons (40-one%), Clark to 4 in 11 (36%) and Monk to three in 16 (19%). Clark's different numbers (yds in accordance to capture, catches in accordance to TD, TDs in accordance to season, etc.) also adventure up extra effective with Irvin than Monk's. I anticipate DBs were extra worried with Irvin and Clark than with Monk. finally, that is the hall of acceptance, no longer the hall of sturdiness.

Maybe a little "coke" bird told them to elect real role model into the Hall! On the field performance is only one of the requirements to get into the HoF.

Get off that peyote (marijuana's cousin) Emmit Smith, Troy Aikman and Micheal Irvin are the only worthy ones. You from Texas and next you will be telling us that George Bush is good/great president.

I'm not convinced Johnston, Novacek, or Tuinei belong in the Hall, and I'm not even sure about Irvin. Aikman's already in, Smith and Allen will both get in easily when eligible.

His post NFL actions doomed his first ballot election. He should make it the next go around. Hey, they do not want to reward his behavior and is sending a message.

Because of off-the-field issues. Whether you agree or not, character is a big issue when it comes to the Hall of Fame.

His outlandish lifestyle and is cocaine habit had something to do with it. Not to mention his career came to a sudden halt because of an unfortunate injury. He's bound to get in, probably in another 5 or six years.
