it could be the baby pressing against an organ or it could be just your muscles and ligaments stretching. that can be quite painful at times.

I am also 24 wks preg. About 3 wks ago I was having these horrible pains on my right side as well. I went to the Dr. b/c I was pretty sure it wasn't ligament pains b/c I've had a baby before. Turns out I had an inflamed appendix. I still have to go to the Dr 2-3 times a weeks to be checked b/c if it doesn't go down I will have to had it removed. They are trying to avoid that since I am preg. But if it comes down to it I will have to have surgery. I say mention to your Dr. if it could be your appendix. Better to be safe than sorry.

Throughout my pregnancy I had aches and pains all over. A baby growing inside of you is one of the most stressful things you can do to your body, and it's only natural that it's going to hurt a bit! Always see a doctor if you're concerned in any way, but chances are that it's just baby getting bigger in there and having no regard for your internal organs. Try a warm bath, lots of rest and relaxation, gentle walking helped me as well. Good luck with the rest of pregnancy - it's such a wonderful time and over far too quickly!

My best friend is 28 weeks pregnant, and 6 weeks ago she had pain in her right side, and after they did an ultrasound they found it was her appenix. She had to have it out the same day. Just in case, maybe ask your doctor about that. I'm sure it's not that, and just a normal pregnancy pain, but better safe than sorry.

Sounds like normal pregnancy growing pains.
Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

I am 23 weeks and i have the same problem. My doctor doesnt really know what it is. She says when you pregnant some people are just alwasy in pain... and i am one of those people! ha! The only time mine feels better is when i lay on top of pillows. Try stacking your pillows! starting at your butt put 1 then your back put 2 then your neck put 3! Good luck! It helps me!

Did they check your kidneys??? I ended up with a kidney infection and it was painful and it was on my right side. I was on antibiotics to get rid of it fast. Because it can cause pre-term labor as can any infection. If it's not that it could just be your baby sitting on a nerve. Try taking baths. It takes all the pressure off. (plus it's relaxing) thats what helped me when my siatic nerve was pinched from baby # 2
