Government has been very successful at providing me with the security to pursue my own goals with a minimum threat from others. My freedom is being protected from the whims (whether intended to be evil or benevolent) of others ... just as their freedoms are being protected from mine. It all starts with our security to be what we have chosen to be.
Without that, there is not much else.

Well that is an easy one for me - I attended publics schools growing up and a state university for both my BA and MA. So the best thing that the Government has provided for me is an education.

Low interest student loans for college, I could not have done college with out them.
Of course the fact that I have to pay taxes bugs me everytime I get a paycheck. :) But what can you do?

When I had my daughter, we had very little money as a military family, so I qualified for the WIC program that bought us food and formula for a few years. It was an absolute lifesaver.
