Andrea honey, what you need to do with your major is contact some gov't agencies in Washington, DC. Check out their websites and something will come up. If you are liberal, there is a great yahoo groups page that are for jobs in DC exclusively for people who want to help the Democratic cause, it's called 'jobsthatareleft'. Being PolSci major helps you land great jobs with the gov't, so give it a try and good luck, babe.
If you are still near your college town, check with them to see when the next career fair is going to be, and check it out to see who is hiring your degree.

Cause apparently a college education doesn't mean squat anymore. I hear you, it's a rough working world out there and there isn't much to rely on. The company I have worked for over 8 years screwed me over and I am the only one in my office that has a college education and the job requires that, they gave it to someone else who doesn't have that education nor the work experience as I do. Tough real tough. Good luck, and be careful where you go to work, get a job through a company that is profit, don't go with non-profit, they'll screw you over. I don't understand why college education is preferred, however, when you look for a job, it isn't enough now a days

I feel your pain. I just graduated this may with a BA in English and can't find any jobs. I just keep applying and try to keep hoping that someone will give me a chance. You do the same and I hope that something will fall into place for both of us! Good luck!

80% of jobs available are never listed in newspapers or on the internet. Target your industry and call HR and ask if they have any jobs open and if not, do they keep resumes on file. Send your resume and check in from time to time. DO NOT say that you're a recent graduate as that screams inexperience. Good luck.

Monster , Yahoo Hotjobs, Careerbuilder are some of the largest job boards, where you can apply for jobs and upload your resume. Since Craigslist, allows free job postings, many smaller companies post their vacancies on this online classifieds website. You can also search for jobs from multiple websites using aggregators like SimplyHired and Indeed. Referrals are also becoming a increasingly popular way to get hired.

A BA in Poli-Sci w/Econ minor. ?? don't know what kind of job your asking for or in what industry, but I'd say just ask for an entry level position to gain experience with that particular firm!
OR -- seek an internship in politics.

I think it might be your degree. There's not much call for political scientists that know something about economics, especially with only a Bachelor's degree.
1) Go back to school for a Masters'.
2) Don't market the degree itself. Market what you know from getting it; professional writing from doing reports, public speaking giving speeches or demonstrations.
