All of the answers already here are good. You can usually get a passport photo at Walgreens or other stores that have a photo shop. Most Kinko's will do it, and most post offices will, also.

In South Africa we have a few services where you are able to get your passport picture. There is normally a mini bus outside the Home Affairs department called Mr ID and they will take your passport photo for you. They do it in black/white or colour. There are also shops around the Home Affairs department where they also take passport photo's. The photo's usually cost about less than R40 depending on what type of passport photo you want.

Any photographer should be able to get you a passport picture then you need to process the paper work and then can take up to 30 days before you receive the actual passport. In the US we get our passports thru the postal service.

Go to any studio and ask for a passport picture. It's as easy as that.

You can go to Costco, Walgreens or any of those stores and get one taken for you and the post office.
