Why is homo sex a major issue in US and Europe but not in Asian countries?

Many people in India are not even aware of this .I think basically it is not so widely prevalent in some countries.

I think the reason why has something to do with our society, as in us being judgemental on almost anything that is different or foreign to us. Both the US and Europe are both judgemental societies who don't believe gay marriage is something morally right.

It is a huge issue in Asian countries just that they don't make a big hoo haa about it. Also they are more secretive/conservative. In less developed Asian countries, the population think gays are effeminated or expressive or unusual. they don't attribute it to homosexuality unless they've seen/experience it before.

Europe is where anything goes. it's where most trends are derived from. So any issue can be a big issue in Europe.

Have you experienced being a homosexual in Asian cultures? Just wondering. I think human nature being what it is we naturally shun that which is different from us. Some more violently than others. Yoai is accepted as an art form in japan and among female youth culture there and even to a certain extent here but cultural mores are still very in line with western culture as regards to homosexuality among the generation that is in power. I think it is wonderful that more young people are more tolerant of homosexuals in our country and across the world but Discrimination takes centuries to fully abolish and we are not even close to the tip of the iceberg in eliminating it regarding homosexuality.

America was founded on Christain princaples, and even though there has been a shift toward pagan in the last 25 years, there are many who believe that homo sexual activity goes against the bible. I cant speak for Europe, I figure its more liberal than the US.

Not all asian countries are ok with it. Indonesia is prodominantly Muslim, they are not generally ok with homosexual sex (I'm not sure on their laws on it though).

Also, in Europe, there are many countries that don't care two hoots about who you're having sex with.

No one continent is either one way or the other, except for perhaps Australia, which is only one country anyway.

what it is ,is that america is scared that the straight people will stop making babys. and our culture will become gay. then it will be okay for the President to be single in office. the military would be more openly gay, and so forth.
Our government is scared that culture across this planet will follow the ways of Americans. so Groups would want to wage war on us for it. So if we became for openly gay accepting, then eroupe and asia will become even more that way.
Even though that will never happen.only aboout 6 % of the entire Earth is actually gay.

They arent any less conservative about it. Its just that it hasnt become as big an issue as it has in the US. Europe, of course, is a whole diff ballgame. Anything is ok in Europe. I love Europe !!
