This number never leaves a msg...when I call it back I get a message about looking up the number in my phone directory. In other words...supposedly the number doesnt exist. If I answer no one is there. What the hell is going on?? Anyone experience this problem?

See if your phone company offers Privacy Manager (or any other system that blocks unidentified or 800 number calls)

sometimes it is an automatic dialer. I had the same company call me over and over looking for some woman who had the number previously. I have had my number 3 1/2 years, it's not like it's brand new. I finally turned them in to the Attorney General of both states. They were a collection agency from Washington state, and I live in Texas. Asking nicely doesn't work very well.

Is there any sound at all? It may be a fax machine trying to dial out... they automatically keep dialing until the fax goes through (depending on the settings of course) Some people can send faxes that use an 800 via the internet... then there's no way to call back... see if you can get that # blocked for free..

Where I work, we had a new system that would call people to leave them a message about their ticket status, we had serious problems with it calling people in the middle of the night etc... It could be somebodys computer system messing up like ours did. I would try calling your phone company, maybe they can put a block on it, or trace it for you
