The real Q here is; Are you trying to obtain a position that you are otherwise unqualified for? And add to that, do you think you can BS your way thru any and all problems you may encounter? Add to that, oh well, you get my point.

Lying about experience is a bad idea and could cost you, as well as your employer (not to mention fellow employees!) in more ways than just money.

I hope you're not going into aviation or security, are you?

It might work if the place you're applying to doesn't do a good job of checking the business out. It is also highly likely that you will be caught, and this is a federal offense which could land you in a world of trouble.

It's not worth it. Just be honest on your application.

Many people do that.
As long as your buddy answers it dishonestly.

However, never lie about education, I have one coworker who was found out he lied about having a degree, got fired rightaway.

However, honesty is always the best policy

It might - but if they check even five years from now you can be instantly terminated from the position and good luck getting a job again after lying on your application. Pick a doorway and shopping cart now.

Not if they do any kind of background check. Many employers now pay to have a background check done on their prospective employees. If you lie about anything on your resume: dates of employment, places of employment etc. they will catch it. If they don't do a background check you may get away with it, but I wouldn't take the chance.

It's 99% effective that it'll work!! And that's supposed to be a bad thing, but honestly, most companies don't do the thorough reference check...so please proceed. Anything get your foot in the door...
Good luck!
