And the style of 'dancing' on 'So you think you can dance'?
Aren't they all kind of clones?

Yes indeed the style sucks, but it's a matter of the demographics of the viewing audience. While there are other Idol type shows like "Rockstar, Supernova" and "Nashville Stars", the producers of American Idol chose Pop because that the most popular type of music right now. I'm surprised that they haven't created "So You Think You Can Rap" yet, but I'm sure it will appear soon. Just do what I do, and don't watch.

I don't hate it. I hate the fact that these people are trained corporate puppets. I hate the fact that they haven't even had time to sell out as they are already sold before they even start. I hate the fact that they haven't slogged it out in the sleazy dives schlepping equipment in and out for free beer and 1966 wages... in 2006. They haven't paid their dues in the so-called "real world" of the music business, and I don't respect them for that reason. I do not watch "American Idol" because I want to see musicians that can actually play an instrument and went through years of training to master their craft. Singing is also a craft, but to me "American Idol" is a twisted and sick perversion of the reality of the music business.

THe singing is pop. Yeah pop sucks but thats the most generally enjoyable type. Fox wants hug audience not just one group who likes one genre.

Hello!!! Don;t you realize yet that its all faked? Its just another one of the ploys the TV networks feed the American public and their assumption they need to know what is going on in the world. You want true reality TV, watch BBC News or Aljazeera Network
