Depends on what is used for.
It is a very strong word to use...so it has to be careful what is is used for...once spoken or written or heard by someone else it can leave a signigicant impact... Dislike is a better word, or unpleasant, painful, angry at something evil...

To use this word in its proper context is okay, if not exactly commendable. There are many synonyms for hate that can be even more descriptive.
But, I don't have as much of a problem with the word "hate" as I have for the act of hating. In other words I hate (abhor, loathe, detest) having to go to the dentist for a root canal, but I don't hate the dentist. I also try to be tolerant enough to not hate individuals, or a class of individuals, although I am not so foolish as to say that I tolerate the actions of Al-Qaeda.

When you use a word too much it loses meaning. I almost never say that I "hate" someone. I would NEVER say it about someone I know personally. I could only hate someone who was a truly malignant person, who really meant harm to others. Many people are ignorant, foolish, annoying or selfish - but not malicious. I tend to say that I dislike someone, but I can't think of anyone that I actually hate.

hate-evil-mean etc. are so over used that now that they mean nothing to people
i was raised to not use those words
11 to 17 year old use these words all the time-they ar very hurtful words and should be used only if absolutly necessary
how about-- I don't like --instead --of I hate--

It depends on who or what you're using to describe it. For example, I have no problem whatsoever saying " I hate terrorists" If you use it on a family member, though, that's out of line

Me, pick me, I do, pick me.
Love is the answer. Hate and the feeling of hate should be non-existant. This would solve most of the worlds true problems.
