Ten glass water,Mark well. No liquids like bevereges. These should not be counted towards quota of water since they require the water that goes in them for their own assimmilation.
Also drinking should not be relegated to the point of feeling thirsty. When you are thirsty your body has started dehydrating and its body's SOS for water. The best way is to ensure drinking water without waiting for the thirsty condition to develop.
Let nobody persuade you to desist from drining water during meals on the plea that this will dilute the digestive juices and cause indigestion. Mind well, these juices are oily in nature and do not mix with water.
Do not overdo drinking water. Some years ago cases were reported from England(confirmed by a correspondent) where excess drining had led to condition of mild intoxication .It appeare;d that excessive water intake dilutes the blood leading to this condition. The biblical story of Jesus changing water into wine has a different significance in this background.

U must drink about 10-12(2litres) glasses per day.Make sure u drink atleast two glasses early in the morning bfore brushing.Its good fro constipation and also secret for a glowing skin.
It doesnt mean u should take only water. Intake of liquids can be in any form like fruit juice,coffe or tea.

If you are asking for normal drinking the answer is as much as you can and as frequently as you can.'
If you want clean your stomach you can do a simple water teraphy
Drink 1.7 Ltrs of water early in the morning and dont eat anything for the next two hours. your bowel movement will be good and you can repeat this in the evening. DRINK WATER AND LIVE LONGER AND YOUR life will be better and you will be more active.
