October is an excellent time to go. The weather is nice and the crowds aren't bad. I don't know where you're coming from so I can't advise you on airfares. Reserve the restaurants in advance by calling Disney so you get to eat when and where you want to eat. The restaurant on top of the Epcot agriculture building has all you can eat and lots of opportunities to pose for pictures with Mickey and Minnie. You also get a free straw hat. There are also characters to pose with at the Crystal Palace in Fantasy Land which has a nice buffet. The French restaurant in Epcot is excellent. It is cheaper not to stay in a Disney Hotel and some of the hotels have shuttle service. When you get into Epcot first thing in the morning head right for space mountain before the lines get long

Disneyland or Disney World? Well either way do some online searches you can find some nice packages for multi day passes and in Florida you really need the park hopper pass. Either place you go to spending one day at Universal Studios is also a good idea. Having plans for lunch and dinner can help save money, the food in the park is expensive, but the restaurants are a little bit better and you get a meal not just a snack. In Florida I would also make sure to visit the space center, yes it is a bit of a drive but it is worth it.

Get the Hopper pass...this way you can hit more than one park in one day for the price of one addmission!
THe fast passes are wonderful...these allow you to get to the front of extreamly long lines...the only catch is that you have to go back to that ride at the specified time on the fast pass...My husband and I usually start off going from ride to ride getting the fast passes and by the time you are done getting all of them it is time for the first ride!

Best Attractions/rides...
Epcot: If you love rides and don't have any heart conditions deffinately hit Epcot's Mission Space...There has been alot of bad press about this ride....BUt it is the greatest ride ever! Figment...and the lazer/fireworks show. Unless you really like the different countries you could do this in half a day. I recommend the evinging into the night to catch the fireworks show!

Animal Kingdom: The safari is very cool...Get there early in the morning and make sure that you try to do this before noon...as it reaches the heat of the day the animals becom less active. YOu could do this in the am and epcot in the pm

Magic Kingdom: This is probably my favorite! Space mountain is great - a rollercoaster in the dark! Splash Mountain is awesome, the Runaway train...Pirates of the carribean- of course!

MGM: You have to hit the Tower of terror, Indiana Jones epic adventure (this is a show that you watch - very cool) Aerosmith's rockin roller coaster, Star wars...THis park also has a cool firework/laser show at night Highly recommended.

For water play I personally prefer Typhoon Lagoon to Blizzard beach...I love the lazy river, and wave pool.

As far as hotels go...It is cheaper to stay in Kissime or st. Cloud and rent a car...IF you don't want the care rental hassel staying on Disney proper is great...they have shuttles that take you to all of the parks right from your hotel. YOu will pay alot more per night but it is nice.

Also when I was there last time if you had a purse or bag they had to check it for bombs or something before you enter the park! I recommend taking a small camera case that connects to your belt (wouldn't want to lose it on a ride) and a wallet. this will save some standing in line time before you even get into the park!

I hope that all of this helps! Enjoy your time!

Other than the obvious...bring money...(duh),

my advice would be to buy a good guide book now at your local bookstore. (PassPorters Guide to Disney World or Birbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World are both VERY good choices. PassPorters' gives LOTS of tips.) I have been to Disney World 4 times-this Sept will be my 5th, and I am going again in Dec- (and my sister has been more times than you can count) and we both bought the PassPorter this year, and almost every day one of us calls the other...."check out page such & such...." It really gives a lot of descriptions of EVERYTHING. That way you can sort of pick what you don't want to miss. Both books have maps to all the parks.

I also suggest that you take your time there. You will NEVER see everything in one park in one day. Enjoy everything that you do see.

Don't miss the fireworks shows (unless you really HATE fireworks.) Either way, don't miss the Illuminations show at EPCOT!!

Have a great time!

I went to Disney the week before Halloween and the weather was awesome. The crowds were minimal enough that any waits in line were barely noticeable.
I stayed at Port Orleans-French Quarter which is a "moderate" resort as far as hotel pricing goes. One of the perks of staying there was that teh ferry to Pleasure Island was right outside my door. I went there almost every night of my one week stay. Just make sure you bring money. The worst part of a vacation is being forced to limit your fun because your short on $$$. Save up to go to Disney and don't treat it like it's an All-Inclusive Resort like going to Bahamas and such.

I am always back and forth to Orlando ( I have family there.) I just got back the other day. But the best thing about Orlando in October, by far, is Universal Haunted Horror Weekends! It is amazing, get tickets to both Universal and Islands of Adventure ( its two parks in one) They have the very scary sections and the semi scary sections marked off so you can pick your fright level. It is so much fun!!!!

well i dont know if yr refering to disney in orlando or california...i live in orlando......my advise if its orlando is make sure you are comfortable with yr motel as per the security of the place, never go anywhere alone..there seems to be a lot of crime in this area....go to parks early and try to keep cool....bring lots of $$ for food and water and ice cold drinks....

book on priceline and try letting them select the times for the travel ( if of course your schedule allows you to be flexible) you save a lot of money! trust me! the downside of course is that you may fly out very late or very early and leave there also very late or early but if it does not matter for you, then priceline is a great way to book and save money.
