So I have terrible PMS, I'm moody, cranky, irritable, angry, emotional, I have a short attention span, and dammit I'm hungry for junk food. Should I apologize every month for my behavior?

Uh clueless guys, PMS is a hormonal imbalance in the brain that occurs every month. I didn't ask for you all's opinions about wheither or not PMS exist, I asked if I should apologize for a behavior that I can not control. Jerks don't make me feel any worse about my problem.

I know how you feel. I bite, chew, and spit out people's heads. No, don't apoligize, maybe warn, but don't apoligize.

I have really rotten PMS as well, only mine is worse after my period is over. I am normally a happy go lucky person. But during the two week period after my period I act very depressed and bite people's heads off. I really hate it beacause everyone thinks I'm weird because for two weeks at a time I blow it. In the the 7th grade I had my first period with PMS. I got six ditentions and was suspended twice. What I do to suside it is:
I spend lenths of time alone to cool me off
I eat choclate (I'll lose weight later)
I stay away from socail axtivitys
Warm baths
Hope this helps!

I think we should always apologize when we are rude to others, but I don't think you need to mention the PMS. I will often tell certain people who I am very close to (nearest friends, boyfriend, Mom) that I'm at "PMS time" so that they won't be surprised by my edginess or whatever. I do my very best to not let it control my life and if I do blow up, I apologize for losing my cool.
Have you talked to your OB-GYN about PMS management? Mine was extremely helpful. There's also a great website with information: www.takingbackthemonth.com I usually don't go for sites that want you to buy their books, but my doc recommended it to me several times over and I finally went on amazon.com to buy it and it has been very helpful.

PMS alters your horomones so there for they might say issues that are impolite or that injury your emotions. it extremely is something that isn't an excuse, inspite of the undeniable fact that even however they have PMS, they are able to declare i'm sorry.

Nah. You're a woman so it's naturally known. However, don't use that as an excuse to being intentionally mean to people either. They'll stop listening to the PMS line and just call you a flat out *****.

My ex-roommate started with PMS two weeks ago. We got in a big fight, I went to jail and now she's homeless. My advice is to try and restrain yourself. PMS is not a valid excuse for awful behavior.

I don't think so. To tell you the truth, if that stuff was happening to me, I wouldn't be able to handle it. You girls are tougher than you know.
