Well, start by washing hands and feet with soap and water. Then take the fingernail clippers and use the little part that looks like a tiny knife with a hook on it. That helps a lot to get out the dirt.

Remove any old nail polish using a cotton wool pad soaked in nail varnish remover. Trim toe nails straight across with clippers and file them carefully in to a square shape with round edges. It's worth adding a few drops of olive oil to your cuticles to soften them up, then push back the cuticles using an orange stick. Next take a foot-file and slough away hard dead skin on the heels or soles of your feet. Select a rich foot cream and spend some time massaging it into your nails.

I have found that swimming really helps to get my finger nails and toe nails clean, especially if I go swimming in the sea. Water, and soap, gets everything clean. A brush also helps.

soak your digets in soapy water , then take a nail brush to them and scrub along the underside of your nails . Then take a scrapping tool to get out what the brush missed . Don't worry , my mother didn't teach me beauty tips either . Sometimes you just have to ask . Good luck!

Get a manicure set or find a fingernail pick. Heck, you could even use a toothpick.
