Just to prove my point from yesterdays question about terror plots?

To prove my point about them bringing investagation out when ever they want, look how we warned India today on terror plots. I guess we didnt want to look like we were not up to par in our intellegance department. Im not saying they are not real I am just saying the pick and chose when to bring it out in the public

Remeber there are investatgions going on right now as we speak on terror plots. Why wait like they did in the UK for the last min to bust these guys. They could have taken them out 6 months ago and spent the rest of the time up to todays date rounding up the guys involed. They wait till two day before they blow up the planes. Something doesnt make sense. You tell me

I agree with gummy too. But I also belive that they can chose when to bring the investagtion out into the public when they chose to. Why did they warn India today why not 2 weeks ago. Please wake up

My point is that you think our government is scared of Terrorist but I happen to belive that our government is more scared of America's and they rule us by fear. Terrorist can take conrtol of our government but a American Revolution can thats my over all point.

You can't show all of your cards too early. The longer you keep investigating, the more likely that you'll be able to follow the chain higher and foil more plots and arrest people further up the line.

It's like how it's easy to bust the small-time drug dealer on the corner. However, if you let him keep dealing and get more and more dirt on him, then he'll be more likely to rat out his supplier - and so it goes up the chain. If we allow these Islamic terrorists to keep contacting people, it can lead us to the more powerful terrorists and help us weed out the "big wigs," find out where their money comes from, and most-likely get information on other targets.

Let me get this straight - You approve of a PRE-EMPTIVE arrests on suspected muslims without all the pertinent information BUT when the President has been given intel that the world agrees with and presents danger to America you disagree and think he is arrogant. You liberals have some severe problems understanding reality. You only seem to be worried about how to reaquise your political power. It is TRULY sad that your party puts its own desires before american security. Timing is uncontrollable when dealing with terrorism. Will you cry more when other plots are foiled and reported closer to election time.

Maybe if your party and the political leaders weren't so ignorant and started supporting the President and the War on Terror - you'd have a better chance at winning elections. Consider any chance that the democraps had to win house or congressinal seats over. Conn shooting down Lieberman who was one of the best leaders you had a sign of things to come. Now no democratic moderate has a chance in hell of winning becasue your party has proven that moderates support Bush and that is not allowed by the lunatics and special intrest groups that fund the democraps. Your moderates will now become republicans or independants which will ultimately end up with less votes for dems and more votes for conservatives.

I agree with gumby. You seem to be arguing that intel should bring media attention and 'bust' everyone that just discusses a terrorist plot such as blowing something up. Wouldn't that feed more into the so called "state-of-fear" that conspiracy theorists think the government is trying to enforce upon us? Wouldn't that give the government more control and us less freedom? If they were able to 'bust' and prosecute with out any hard evidence our jails would be even more overcrowded.

they have to follow proper procedure in order to actually be able to prosecute. It's one thing to stop a terrorist plan, it's another to stop it AND nab the terrorists. If they had picked up the terrorists 6 months ago, they would not have been able to prosecute. It's all speculation until there is some proof and unfortunately, the best proof in the world is catching somebody in the act. I understand what you are saying, but I would have to agree with how they handled it given that they now have several 'suspected' terrorists in custody.
