Did Liddy ever claim to have been in the Watergate office that night? Someone told me a long time ago that he was there but hid from the cops and was not caught until the other burglars squealed a few days later. True, or not?

G was not there. He planned it. It was Forrest Gump who blew the whistle on the burglars. (Didn't you see the picture?)

G. Gordon Battle Liddy was the brains behind the Nixon recon group known as the Committee to Re-elect the President. Watergate was just one conspiracy gone wrong and many went to jail including Liddy. I've never read "Will", his autobiography, so I can not comment on whether or not 'he was there'.
