Oh, I'll be here. I just love how Ohio State and Oklahoma fans "think" Vince Young was the only player on that team. They did have the #2 defense in the country and most of them are back. Jamaal Charles will win a Heisman before he leaves Austin. All they really lost were Vince and David Thomas. Ohio State lost most of their defense.

gotearz - Never said Vince wasn't a big loss. But again, they do have 16 starters returning including most of the the #2 defense in the country last year and probably the best sophmore running back in the country. Sounds pretty good to me but then again I'm just an "idiot".

I'm a UT fan, but don't get too confident just yet. Not only does UT not have an experienced QB, but it looks like Mack Brown is going to play the QB juggling game, which if you look at in the past, never works. You have to name a starter. You have to show complete confidence in a QB for them to be the best they can be. Look what happened with Chris Simms and Major Applewhite? At least UT returns 16 starters from the National Championship team, and the only big loss was Vince Young. The backfield is pretty much the same, and the receiving corps will be the same. The secondary is the best in the big XII, as well as the defensive line.

Ohio State lost the heart and soul of their defense when A.J. Hawk left. Losing 9 starters will be tough for them to overcome, but Ohio is a LB factory. Lots of people are hyping up Troy Smith, but he didn't look like anything special in the game last year. He's no Vince Young, and he's playing against a defense that played Vince Young every day. UT knows how to handle a running QB. Look what they did to Brad Smith of Missouri last season. Contained him.

HOOK 'EM!!!

Probably not...I'll be too busy celebrating an Ohio State victory. Vince Young is the ONLY reason Texas won the NC, it's a fact. Texas no longer has the threat at QB that it did. No longer does the defense have to worry that the QB is going to scramble for 20 yards at any time. That was a HUGE element and it's gone.

Hell yes, win or lose. I can take anything I dish out. That's what a real man does. How about you? I wouldn't be too confident, if I were you. Considering the one player that beat Ohio State won't be there.

all they lost was Vince? are you kidding? i can't stand Ohio St or Oklahoma, but that has to be one of the dumbest statements I have ever read. All they lost is a QB that could run for 200 and throw for 300 that accounted for 85% of their total offense...you are a genius.
