I have been to several amazing places. Two stand out in my mind.
I have stood on a glacier in Alaska and peered into what seemed a bottomless crevice. It is impossible to describe the true color if "ice blue". It is the same tone as the popular color used on cars in the 60's. However, it has an iridescent luster that gives it a life of it's own.
I have been spelunking in a cave in San Marcos, Texas that is located above the St. Edwards Aquifer. In this cave there is a "room" that terminates in the Aquifer itself. As you enter the room you must throw a stone. The water is so clear that (under the light of a flashlight) you are unable to see where the air ends and the water begins unless you cause some ripples on the water surface.
There is still so much to see....

I have travelled a little in our vast world. 2 places stand out.
One is downtown Edinburgh, Scotland. I love mountains so to see the skyline of the city, imagine a small mountain with an amazing Castle on the top. Fantastic.
Second is the Chris Statue that presides over Rio de Janiero. Breathtaking!!

Azores--Sao Miguel. It is such a cute and friendly island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. They party from midnight till 8am, it's pretty crazy. I stayed in Agua De Pau, it was classic-- traditional atmosphere, not many stores, no street lights. I stayed @ Quinta Altamira, they are bungalows, sooo excluded from the rest of the world, with a BREATHtaking view of the Atlantic ocean off the cliff (about 100 ft away from the bungalows) Hidden stairways leading to the water, it was incredible. I want to go back so bad!! It was my first out of country experience, and I was by myself (with a group, but i didnt know anyone). The BEST drink that is made on the island is "Queen of the Islands" it's a creme liquer... wow, knocks bailey's out of the water!!!

Salem Mass. I learned alot about the history there. It's not jsut about accused witches and trials. I also learned about the history of pirates there. Very interesting.
Just for fun I went on a ghost tour. No I didn't see any ghost and yes I probably peed off the tourist guide. She talked about how we could take pictures and when they are developed we probably see orbs. (little white round balls of lights.) Every time I seen a street light I looked at my son and said look theres an orb. I found it funny and others did to. Some, I think took offense. (oops just trying to have fun)
We went through different tours of houses that accused witches lived in and judges. They had haunted houses and stuff like that. Ofcourse they had all kinds of shops to spen your money in.
Very expensive trip but it was fun to blow money. (not my style on a norm.)

I believe that Northern Ca./ Southern Or. is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Thr redwoods are really something magical to behold, you just simply cannot get the same feeling from looking at a book, you gotta see them in person. One redwood, in particular, is almost 3000 yrs old...still growing in the same place, survived countless wildfires and escaped the saw...
Really puts you, as a person, in your relative place.
Watching the salmon runs there is really something to see, too. I have watched them in person battling their way against the falling water, and win... Seeing a salmon gaining headway, while in a waterfall of water is a special sight, and I am thankful I had the opportunity to see it live and up close myself.
Another real place to see while in the area is Crater Lake. The brilliance of the blue water is something you just cannot get unless you see it yourself. I have NEVER seen a more beautiful shade of blue, it is almost like being able to give your eyes the most wonderful candy, I sat and just stared at it in awe.

I am a great fan of our National Park system. The beauty of nature is unmatched. Some of my favorites would be Death Valley, yes it's a horrible name for a wonderful place, Grand Teton, Bryce Canyon, and Arches. I could go to any of these parks, and a host of many other over and over and over. It'll never get boring.

I dream of going to the Seychelles, a group of "unspoiled" tropical islands in the Indian Ocean. They're supposed to be much less commercial than a lot of other island destinations.
They're very very very remote (east of
Africa, northeast of Madagascar), and thus expensive to get to!
