and medicaid is universal

doesnt matter your situation your pregannt so you AUTOMATICALLY qualify

go to your nearest community hospital and apply

you'll need proof of address, income(although it doesnt matter), State ID and proff of pregnancy(a doctor can give you this letter)

and youll get your temporary card that day and they will send you a permanent one in a week

Also your covered for the entire pregnancy and your baby up until 6 months....so as soon as he/she is born get on top of insuring him/her and everything

Josephs Hospital is not to far from the lake. I had no type of insurance and they have an office in the hospital and help you just so you could be able to take care of the baby and your self while pregnant. Give it a try.

I know you may not want too but go to your local public aid office, and have proof of being pregnant, they will get you set up on the medical card(it's free, everything including the birth of the baby) and you can also keep it afterwards for you and the baby. When you can't afford healthcare this is the next best option.

There's a few Planned Parenthoods in the city, though I don't know exactly where. Go to their website. They'll give you an exam and let you know of other free clinics that may be closer to you.
Good luck
