My friend has a baby. she got seperated but her ex took all the papers(birth cerificate, social security) with him. and she cannot find him but the baby is with her. Shes looking to have her baby's documents with her. is that possible she can have them?

If she has legal custody, she can call SS for a new card and get a copy of birth cerificate from Bureau of Vital Statistics or county clerk whatever is proper in her town and state.

SHe needs to go to the town hall/office that the child was born in. Ask them for a copy of the birth certificate. Or go back to the hospital the child was born in and ask them if they have a copy or where she needs to go for a copy. Then just call the social security office and report the card lost and ask for a new one.

go to where the baby was born and get the birth certificate. Go to the socail security office nearest you, explain the situation and they will help you get a new one. This worked for me when my mom lost my social and my birth certificate.
