Watch ebay and the local cycle trader. On ebay look for parts for that bike coming from around the same area (90 miles or so) and in the cycle trader watch for the same bike but not the same color. (Plastics are cheap.) Another thing you should watch on ebay is for salvaged GSXR frames sold to people in the area. If they are going to register it and ride it they have a title (and frame/VIN number)to do it then. Cops never check to see if your license matches the VIN number on a bike. If it was in a locked garage and that was the only thing stolen it is somebody who you know or lives in the area and saw the bike. Make a point to seriously talk to any new riding buddies and the neighbors too. Don't accuse just talk very openly about it being stolen and watch their reactions.

I'm really sorry to hear about that...I assume since it's brand new he had full coverage on it? I hope so. For the next bike, you might have a few options...I park my Hayabusa in my car port and I have a Xena disc lock. These disk locks also have an alarm on them that sounds for 30 seconds if someone does more than lightly touch the bike. It's a great feature to have, because people tend to forget disc locks are on...and drive off with them, doing a lot of damage. For me though, that doubles, as the 30 seconds the alarm is sounding is enough time for me to get out of my bed, grab my Glock, and go exploring. Two more options for him: Scorpio alarms are really good...they have a keychain remote that acts like a pager if your alarm goes off. Another option is look to see if Lo-Jack for motorcycles is available in your area. Good luck.

If its not to obvious, be looking at neighbors and or acquaintances with the same or similar bike, especially if its being worked on or recently crashed. If your willing to part with some cash put a reward (LOTS OF SIGNS) even if you get no info it will alert your neighbors and most importantly it will make the scumbag horsetheif sweat. Sorry for your loss and good luck.
