I went to the pet store yesterday and for some reason the person who was in charge of the fish did not want me to buy any guppy feeder fish he said the oscar and parrot ate good last night so they will be fine until Tuesday. Thats when they get their shipment in of Guppys. I think he wanted to take the guppys home for himself because there were only about 20 left.

Because they are cold-blooded creatures, fish can easily survive without daily feeding, and most can actually go without food for a week (they start 'losing weight' or getting skinny after 15-20 days with no food).

Some african cichlids have adapted to go over 3 to 4 weeks without eating while they mouthbrood their young; mine do this routinely (the longest my mouth brooding african cichlid went without food was 34 days; usually it's 17-21 days).

Some larger fish are fed once every few days. Underfeeding is actually better than overfeeding in regards to overall fish health and water quality.

As I know from books that Fishes can be left without food for up to 1 to 2 weeks. But they will become weaker and swim much slower after fasting for more than a week. It is a good habit to let your fish(es) fast at least once a week for them to digest what's left inside their stomach. This will also helps to prevent illness such as constipation and bloated stomach etc.
