If it is poison ivy, oak, or sumack, then understand that it is highly, highly contagious. And scratching only aggravates it, spreads it and may leave scars. And again, if it is any of those, if you don't clear it up soon, other people in your household can get it. Go to Walmart. Buy a bar of 'Dial' soap. Buy one jar or tube of 'Band Aid Plus'. It's not a bandaid, it's a gel. Walmart definitely has these two products. Wash all effected areas with dial soap. After washing, DO NOT rinse soap off. Let it dry. after drying, the rinse with warm water. Pat dry - Do not rub. Pat dry. Immediately apply BandAid Plus. Do this two times per day. The itching will cease. The soars and rash will disappear in 2 days. For Sure. Good Luck. ps: Just so you know, I had the worst case of Poison Oak ever. My lets were just two long scabs, from just below the hips to my ankles. Went through months of prescription pills, prescription salves, strong antibiotic treatments, all to no avail. Then I found out about Dial and Band Aid Plus. That discovery is another story for another time. You will be amazed. Take care.

Depnds on how bad ya got it in the first place. Make sure you wash your dog with the same stuff, technu or brown soap. to get the oil off. The oil can stay on your clothes for a year so be careful of that.
Once it starts showing up on your skin... you have about 2 weeks to suffer to get it under really good control. Blister popping does NOT spread the "disease" nor does rubbing up against someone that has it, UNLESS the oil is still present.
Calomine lotion works pretty well to stop the itch so make sure you take it with you.

You only get Poison Oak, Ivy, or Sumac if you are allergic to it. So the rash is a allergic reaction to the plant. It can take about 2 weeks to clear up. If you live near the ocean or saltwater, it really speeds up the healing process if you go in the ocean. Something about the saltyness of the water dries it up quicker.

Keep using your scrub. Poision oak can take a while to go away, so if in about a week it's still there go to your doctor so they can prescribe you something for it to go away. My husband had it last year and it lasted alost 2 months until he finally decided to go to the doc.

Poison oak SUCKS. The more you scratch it, the more it spreads, and the longer it takes to go away. Mine took like 2 weeks or more, but I itched and scratched it like crazy! How can you not??

I think that depends on your body's reaction to it. It can last weeks. Try bathing in epson salts or putting salt on the affected areas. Hopefully it will dry it out.

it takes a while if not treated properly. if it is really bad, i would suggest that you go to the doctor and get a steroid shot.
