The three infront of 3Na2CO3 means that there are 3 molecules of Na2CO3. The 2 after Na is the charges on Co3.

ok the charge for Na is +1 or +
The charge on CO3 is -2
so when you put these 2 ions together you would substitute.

Let me explain the charges. Na is +1 because is it lost one electron. CO3 is -2 because it gained 2 electron

3 is the number of molecules which are in a reaction... i am sure you found "3Na2Co3" in a reaction (it's all about the conservation of the number of the molecules)... the number 2 means that are 2 atoms of Na combined with one atom of C and 3 of O

The "3" means 3 moles of Na2CO3 (1 mole of a molecule equals 6.02x10^23 molecules), the "2" means 2 atoms of Na are bonded to one atom of C and 3 atoms of O in the molecule.

3 signifies 3 units byvolume of Na2CO3.it can be 3 litre,3 ml,3 mol
the 2 after Na signifies the valency of CO3radical meaning because the valency of CO3 is 2 and the valency of Na is 1 ,2 atoms of sodium will combine with i molecule of CO3 to form Na2CO3

the 3 can mean 3 moles or 3 molecules. if it's a gas it can also mean 3 liters at stp... the 2 means the number of atoms of that element in the compound.
