YES burning dry leaves IS VERY harmful to the environment.
You can recycle them by composting (making dirt) and your garden will LOOK GREAT and healthy.
Make a leaf pile and cover with sand and dirt - then stir every other week...
It is fun and you can grow veggies now....

Burning dry leaves is not environment friendly. Leaves are biodegradable materials so it will be better if we compost these. What about trying to make fossils out of leaves before they dry? Color the fossils any color you want You can make lots of money in so doing. Fossils are used to decorate pieces of furniture.

Look into mulching or composting. You can use it as fertilizer, or ground cover to help protect your plants in winter.

Burning leaves can't be all that great for the environment, with everything ELSE in the air these days!

Leaf smoke can irritate the eyes, nose and throat of healthy adults.But it can be much more harmful to small children, the elderly, and people with asthma or other lung or heart diseases.

leaf smoke contains many hazardous chemicals, including carbon monoxide and benzo(a)pyrene.

You Can:
Compost leaves and plant clippings. You can reduce the volume of leaves significantly by shredding them before composting.

Pretty me....One thing is clear ..burning is harmful as many already explained.Composting is painful..once you can do but not when it is a menace on a regular basis.So best is, pack them in a bag and clear it in uninhabited far away place.This does not harm anybody as they are biodegradable..I do this , when I drive down to a nearby farm for manure for my garden.This is the simplest, I find.

well its v.v.dangerous 4 the environment.best way to dispose off dry leaves is to collect them all & if you can dug a hole somewhere around your house,then do it & put all the leaves into it.its the best way to dispose it.
