In your opinion, which hotel in Las Vegas is the best, keeping in mind these parameters: low cost, location, and poshness?

Depends on what you want and how much you want to spend and how close you want to be to "the action". The first hotel in most peoples mind is probably going to be the Bellagio even if they have never stayed there. I have (I've actually stayed in almost every hotel in Vegas- not bragging. I used to live there for 20+ years and you get to know people and also when I was in High School they were good places to have parties). It is very nice and luxurious to be sure but very expensive. Their pool is beautiful and you may see a celebrity or two. Next on my list would be the MGM. Little less pricey for a regular room (Their high class rooms that most poeple don't have access to are more pricey than Bellagio's. I'll put it this way, it cost more to stay in the high class suite than some people make in a month). Mgm is where alot of concerts and fights are put on. Great atmosphere and for the most part, nice views. I like Mandalay Bay because they have a lazy river and a wave pool at their pool and the casino always smells nice and nevry smokey. If you want to go old school and spend a little less money but still be on the strip try Bally's. They have really cool 2 story suites and HUGE patios. If you want to be around a very hip, hollywood like crowd and don't mind off the strip try The Hard Rock. There is cool memoribilia everywhere!!. If you want really old school and want to feel like one of the rat pack, try downtown and if you want very affordable and your basic hotel room try the Rio or the Orleans.

hi I am going to Vegas too in a month. And your same parameters are what mattered most to me. I settled on the Tropicana. I have never been before but if the Trop is good enough for my fussy Italian brother, then it is fine for me. From what I hear you don't spend alot of time in your room anyway. I did the $10 upgrade to the Island Tower room and I think things will be just fine. I wanted to stay at NYNY or Monte Carlo but Trop rates are half of that and is located right by those hotels anyway.

Well all the hotels on the strip have the best location and are the best Las Vegas has to offer, but they are the most expensive to stay at. My personal favorite is the Venetian. It is the most sophisticated and has the coolest theme. Of course if you can get better deals at another hotel, you would probalby take that, but it's still my favorite.

Good location and poshness and inexpensive do not go together...with the new monorail I would try the Las Vegas Hilton it has Barry Manilow right now and The Star Treck Experience in the hotel and it is right next to the convention center...hard question to answer.....

You mentioned low cost and many of the big new resorts are well over $150.00 per night
Find a travel package and you will get better rates
Hotels like the Flamingo hilton, Harrahs, Stratosphere and the LV Hilton are often lower in price, but offer many amenities
The Bellagio, Wynn,Caesars, Mitage,TI and MGM,Four Seasons, and Mandalay are NOT low cost by any means

If low cost is something that is important, then ignore anyone who says, Wynn, Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island, Mandalay...

Go to the MGM or Imperial Palace. They are at the south end of the strip...not a bad walking distance from any of the above. You stay cheap, and play at the nice ones.

The Wynn hotel is the best is the closet to all the others on the strip but good luck getting a reservation. Supposedly it is booked until the end of this year

the second best is the bellagio hotel

The Venetian. I stayed there with my company one time.. It is the nicest place. The rooms are just specatcular. I couldnt afford that place but it is a great splurg. Also said at the Paris. It was really resonable and nice. But you really dont stay in your room for very long. Also stayed at the Excalibur. It is really nice and reasonable too. I wouldnt stay downtown. To far from the strip. Would have to take the bus everyday to go up the strip. I wouldnt want to drive. I mean cmon, you are really going to go up one road.

My fav was the Westward Ho. Not there anymore but it was the best bang for you buck. I am so upset it is not there anymore. DARN YOU VEGAS. :)

Mandalay Bay -- Huge, great location on the strip, cool restaurants and bars, cool casino, great outdoor pool area, and less expensive than the comparable places (i.e. Bellagio, Venetian, etc.)

My favorite casino/hotel in Vegas. I heard the MGM isn't bad either, but haven't been.

low cost hotel is not consider the best....the MGM Grand in Vegas is good. Sometimes it's difficult to stay in a low cost hotel.
