When I was 13, my first crush moved away out of state - I was devastated; I looked to the heavens and swore that I would find her again before I died.

It is now 26 years later and my sporadic, casual attempts to locate her online over the years has yielded my first reply - an old classmate who was a friend in high school where she moved to. He has the capability of reconnecting me with my first love, who has remained 13 in my memory and dreams all my life.

The question: Keep the memory as it has always been, or reconnect with a 39 year old woman who is now a stranger?

Note: I'm happily married w/kids; the Mrs. is OK with my meeting her (she's a former classmate also). The woman is unmarried, according to what I know.

what ever you decide have no regrets.
i personally would try to meet her and just to reestablish an old friendship and i would take my wife with me when i meet her.
the risk you take is the fantasy will be gone forever.
the reward is you make a new friend.

You should meet this woman. Reality is always better for you than fantasy! I mean what fully grown man wants to be fantasizing about a 13 year old girl?

So contact her and you can maybe get her to come meet the family. Also, don't be too disappointed if she doesn't remember you, after all you were just another 13 year old boy after her.

If you are happily married now, don't open that door.

You were 13 when you first had a crush on her. After 26 years you have met a woman you are in love with, married her, and started a family.

Keep that door closed and leave it alone. You could hurt a lot of people if you acted on it.

Why would you need to go to your past? Sure it was great when you were young, but you are married with kids! Do you want to break up you little family? How would your wife feel, that you aren't satisfied with her, after she had a few of your kids? Most of us do have a fantasy of a person when we knew them years ago, but them people changed a lot over these years! Believe me I know. The guy I liked in 3rd grade is nothing to look at, and he's a bum at that! So the best advice is, stay with your wife & kids and don't look in the past... because your wife is the one that's faithful and why would you want to break that up?

Sounds like trouble. If you were not married I would say go for it. What are you going to do if you meet this girl and you feel all the same feelings you had in the past? Will you cheat on wifey? You need to think about all these things before you make your decision.

Leave it alone. You are married with kids now. Leave the past in the past.
